Oni is the best ramen spot in Dallas!!!! It taste like I'm in Tokyo Japan. I absolutely love this spot and will recommend it to everyone I know! They are super quick calling out your number and have good music playing in the back ground. 1000% you must try it

Oni is a must-have when in Deep Ellum. It's easy to order (two kiosks, self-serve OR sit at the bar, not both!), and easy to pick your spice level... just know there are no remakes or refunds! Choose wisely! You can get your spice on the side if you're wanting to be adventurous but not have a heavy risk of dragon fire breathing, mouth melting spice levels. The ramen is quality, always delicious, and tastes fresh. I love that you can choose a hard or soft boiled egg because, let's face it, not everyone likes it the same way! The restaurant itself is a skinny sliver of a place with two entries, one at the front, one at the back. It's stylish and utilitarian; plenty of place for you to hunch over a steaming bowl and slurp noodles to your hearts delight. It's definitely casual and the mood (and crowd) gets more creative as the night goes on! I will always approve of Oni when it comes to ramen. The spice choices are dialed and they know it.

I enjoyed this place! The food was really good and the portions were HUGE! The staff weren't too talkative- but ensured our drinks were filled and we had everything we needed! The restaurant itself was clean, but the restroom wasn't as clean. Overall a very enjoyable experience!

Great broth in ramen (we had one spicy and one mild/regular) and the fried gyozas were really good! 4 stars because when we came into the restaurant, no one greeted us or acknowledged us. We asked the bartender whether we needed to sit ourselves or if there was a hostess to sit us and he said we could get full service at the bar otherwise it's a self-seating place.... but he didn't tell us that we needed to also self-order if we sat anywhere outside of the bar. We waited a few minutes for a server but after 10 minutes, went back to the bar to ask about a server and that's when the bartender said that we have to order on our own on some kiosks in the corner. Just strange he didn't mention that the first time - or check on us given we were the only people in the restaurant? Bizarre.

I've had this one bookmarked for a while and finally got a chance to go. It is a pretty small place but it definitely says ramen restaurant when you walk in. They are heavily focused on it and have an opening where you can clearly see the chefs working. There system only allowed for credit cards to be used up to $30 or you'd have to go to the bar and check out with them. I think this is a one off and system issue. The tonkatsu ramen i had was delicious. The broth was very rich and you can tell they take extra care when making it. I had the mild spice, not hot at all but added a nice additional flavor. There isn't much seating inside due to its small spot but they do a lot of to go orders as well. Definitely glad i checked this spot out.

Had dinner here with my family since my son had heard so many good things. The parking really sucks, there is very little street parking, but several lots and each cost oner twenty bucks. The restaurant had a very friendly staff and they were eager to help with inputting your orders. I ordered the Texas Mazeman, and aside from having a very big chunk of ramen, partly uncooked and inedible, it was a really good bowl with lots of flavor and a really good broth. My wife also enjoyed her vegetarian bowl. If ever in the area again we will make another visit.

Deep Ellum is eclectic but holds a lot of gems. This is an incredible one. I have no complaints, no notes. I like eating places that are not complicated. The price point isn't ridiculous and you can eat here any season. The staff is doing what they need to and I really only like eating outside? I don't know if that information is useful here given that the star of the show is just the food.

The type of ramen joints that is worth to mention and visit. I appreciate the different types of ramen they have instead of the regular "miso" "shoyu" blah blah blah. Give me something new. Which they did. Heres the breakdown and you must order: -Texas Mazeman: for someone who wants noodles but in a soup form. So much flavor and perfect chewiness. -Tokyo black: for someone who's a daredevil. This one is a good one to try. Another flavorful ramen -Oni reaper: good flavor. The most basic out of the three i mentioned, but still good. Ambiance: place is quite small but has 3 tables in the back and along the wall. Will i be back? Yes, if im around DTX again.

New to the area and it's 29 degrees. Looked up ramen places and decided to try this place out. Yummy. We had the chicken Karage. The ramen was amazing. A must try I ordered a sprite in a glass bottle and the hubby ordered a beer. You can order at the bar or the kiosk After ordering take a seat and come up when they. Call your number. Bring a sweater it's chilly inside even if cold outside
